"The only disability in life is bad attitude and not wanting to learn"--Scott Hamilton
A lot of things excite me about this whole presentation. I enjoy gathering information and talking to people about my plan. I love the fact that I will have people listening to me and my ideas. I love setting it up and seeing how it is all coming together.
I sometimes have a hard time putting my thoughts together and making sure I cover everything that I need to cover. Its also hard for me to talk to people in public, but that is something that I am working on. I also need to make sure that my presentation is complete and everything is covered/
I go over my plan to my family members and even people at my job. They let me know there thoughts and things they think that I don't need in my plan. I am also trying to make sure that I organize it and keep everything together.
By helping families understand how important early intervention is. Encourage families and let then know that their opinion matters and they play an important role in their child's education.
I think that the best way to overcome the problem of organizing your thoughts is to talk about it with other people. You are doing just that, and when you get a fresh perspective from other classmates and colleagues you will be able to better organize yourself and think of your cause in ways you had never thought of before. I too feel nervous when I am presenting information in front of others. Make sure that you are passionate about what you are advocating for and use that passion to give you the strength to say what you need to say to get your ideas across.
ReplyDeleteI like your questions on your advocacy journey I can relate to having a hard time putting thoughts together to cover everything that needs to be covered when doing researching any types of materials. I think that you will do great on your research When you finish your paper let someone read over it and if anything is wrong they can give you feedback to help you.

ReplyDeleteI do too agree with putting thoughts together. For me I find it easier to write down my thoughts. Sometimes my words get all jumbled up when I try speaking; my brain works faster than my mouth at times. However, just be patient, relax, and take your time.
ReplyDeleteI totally believe that parents need to be a voice for their children. If they cannot do it, we need to be there for them to get their voice heard.
I like your blog :)
